These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Kufu iOS and watchOS app ("the app"), built by Akos Komuves. By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms.
Kufu is a general fitness and wellness app. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Features such as RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion) tracking, back pain logging, workout recommendations, deload suggestions, and nutrition estimates are designed to help you plan and monitor your own training. They are not clinical assessments.
Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting a new exercise program, especially if you have a medical condition, are recovering from an injury, are pregnant, or experience pain during training. Do not use Kufu as a substitute for professional medical care. You use the app at your own risk.
Kufu offers an auto-renewing subscription, "Kufu Pro", in two lengths:
Current pricing is displayed in the app before you confirm a purchase. New subscribers may be eligible for a 7-day free trial; the trial is available once per Apple ID. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel an active subscription.
Refunds are handled by Apple according to Apple's refund policy: support.apple.com/en-us/HT204084.
Kufu is usable without a subscription. Free users receive a limited number of AI food scans per week and do not have access to Pro-only features (periodization engine, skill auto-progression, unlimited food scans, digestive health analysis, data export). These limits may change over time.
Data handling is described in the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
You agree not to: (a) reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except to the extent permitted by applicable law; (b) use the app in violation of any law; (c) attempt to circumvent subscription gating or access paid features without a valid subscription; (d) use the app to harass or harm any person.
Kufu, including its name, logo, design, code, text, illustrations, exercise content, skill progressions, and training program structure, is owned by Akos Komuves and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.
The app links to video demonstrations hosted on YouTube. YouTube is a third-party service with its own terms. Food database lookups are provided by OpenFoodFacts under their open data license. AI nutritional estimates are generated by Google Gemini and may be inaccurate — always verify critical nutrition information, especially if you have allergies, medical dietary requirements, or are tracking macros for performance.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that nutritional estimates, workout recommendations, skill progressions, or deload suggestions will be accurate or suitable for your specific situation.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Akos Komuves be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the app, including any physical injury, loss of data, or lost profits, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, total liability shall be limited to the amount you paid for a Kufu Pro subscription in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer protection law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or terminate your access to the app if you materially breach these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of Hungary, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
